Germicidal ultraviolet lamps emit radiant energy at 253.7nm (C-Band ultraviolet or UVC) wavelength. The UVC energy photo-chemically reacts with the DNA and RNA of microorganisms - viruses, bacteria, mold and spores - sterilizing them.
